Shalun Li believes the most important goal in piano lessons is fostering an enjoyment for music that lasts a lifetime. In order to nurture and develop that appreciation for music—not just piano specifically—He believes students need to become musicians in their own right.
To teach a student to become a musician, he constantly strive to cultivate excellence in everything that’s done in piano lessons and teach the concepts needed to be a sensitive musician. Adhering to the concept of inspiring students' interest in music, improving music literacy and music performance ability, stimulating students' learning initiative and musical talent, discovering the uniqueness of students, and teaching students in accordance with their aptitude. In addition to the training of piano performance, the lesson also involves all levels of music theory, basic improvisation and composition.
